It also suffered from the same lack of integration issues as the touchpal one. But it seemed to have significantly more bugs than the Touchpal one and worked only the first time and wouldn't come up correctly after that. I was initially excited that it was semi transparent, so you could see the desktop behind the keyboard, potentially very useful. Yikes, it's from 2007, ok well we'll try it anyway. I also saw the blog post describing a swype like keyboard called "inscribe" and gave that a whirl. Sadly, although there may be a way to do it, the touchpal keyboard just isn't integrated into the operating system like the built in one.

so I thought well I'll just launch the ease of access keyboard(from control panel) for this one task and even with that one, I still couldn't fill in text in the box until i re-enabled the built in one.
#HOW TO DISABLE TOUCHPAL KEYBOARD PASSWORD#
I couldn't for example type in text into a wifi password box, the box turned white when I clicked on it to allow typing and then immediately unselected, almost like windows thought there was no keyboard driver. Next showstopper, somehow windows doesn't always know there's a keyboard in action and being used with the touchpal one. First issue, the swype keyboard can't be moved around, so any clicks or text boxes at the bottom, when you click on the swype keyboard they're no longer in focus and you can't make them in focus because you can't move the swype keyboard (there might be another way). So the swype keyboard isn't coming up automatically so I just put a shortcut on the task bar for it and have an extra click to use the keyboard. That prevented the built-in keyboard from popping up all the time which would always be in front of the touchpal swype keyboard. Had to disable the internal keyboard which meant one registery change and turning off a windows service "onscreen keyboard" or something like that, if you look through the list you will see it.

The swyping works pretty well, but there is endless problems it seems like. I went through his steps and was able to do that and get the swype keyboard to come up. the crux of what he said was that the installation doesn't work because one of the two keyboard executables requires compatibility changes (run for earlier version of windows like win 7 and run as admin). Need to re-toggle settings to activate the curving,ĭisplayed underneath the other keyboards when the other keyboards are open.īased on CENTRI's steps above it CAN be done but IT'S NOT WORTH it too many f'ing bugs. It should open when you select it from the task bar. When prompted select the blue " user acount control" link at the bottom, it's probably in the alert details. Right click TPKeyBoard.exe > Pin to taskbar Navigate to C:\Program Files\CooTek\TouchPal\keyboard again Select "Next" > Save settings > Close troubleshooter In the "Compatibility" tab, "Run compatibility troubleshooter"Ĭheck "I don't see my problem listed" and select "Next"Ĭhose your operating system and select "Next" Navigate to C:\Program Files\CooTek\TouchPal\keyboard Make sure you installed the app to your program files, else re-install it. It's the Swype keyboard that's being blocked by your computer.
